Skin Care

If you’ve got your eye on some of the newest celebrity jewelry trends on the market this season, you’re going to want to take some time and make sure your skin is looking its best so your jewelry really sparkles and makes a statement.  Having nice skin is not only nice by itself, but it also makes your makeup and outfits look that much better as it’s something that can really make you stand out.

The first step to maintaining a healthy complexion is to be extremely cautious of how much you’re showering and washing your skin.  While washing your face regularly is a good idea to get rid of germs and makeup, over washing your skin can actually have the opposite effect, making your more prone to dry skin and infections.

When you’re washing your face, make sure that you’re exfoliating at least once a month.  If your skin can handle it (and it’s not under the sensitive category), you should even consider exfoliating more regularly such as every week.  Exfoliating helps stimulate the blood under the skin, giving you a healthy rosy blush, and gets rid of all the dead skin that accumulates over time, resulting in a healthy glow.

Ensure that you’re using the correct type of cleansers for your skin type.  Sensitive skin will need a little extra TLC in order to keep it look its best.  Also, when you’re choosing your face wash or facial cleanser, be sure to choose ones that have moisturizers built into them.  Facial cleansers can be quite harsh on skin, risking you drying it out and doing more damage than you realize.  Making sure your face wash has softening agents in it will keep some the moisture in your skin as you’re washing it.

In that same token, make sure you’re always using a moisturizer after you wash your face.  This has two benefits to it.

First, using a moisturizer in your normal routine will keep your skin from drying out or flaking, meaning that it will look healthier with a nicer glow and a rosy color.  Soft, hydrated skin is instantly noticeable over that of a dry complexion and it definitely looks better.

Secondly, if you’re prone to breaking out or bad bouts of acne, your moisturizer might fix that up for you.  Your skin will produce double or triple the oils than it normally would if your skin is dry, meaning that more of it will be clogged in your pores, resulting in you breaking out.  If you’re breaking out, you’re potentially breaking the skin, which only serves to perpetuate the cycle.  Hydrating your skin with regular moisturizers will keep you from producing so much oil.

Make sure your moisturizers have SPF in them, usually at least about SPF 15.  Using a moisturizer that protects your skin against the sun will not only protect you from the UV rays, but it can also help keep your skin from drying out from the sun and it will protect you from sunburn.  You should put SPF moisturizer on every part of your face, neck, and chest that is showing.

When it comes to any good outfit, you’re going to want to make sure your skin is looking its best to really get the best out of it.  The way your skin, hair, and makeup look are just as important as the accessories you wear.
